Refereeing is an important part of AYSO. Without our volunteer referees, we would not be able to provide a safe and fun environment for kids of all ages to pursue their love of soccer! We are always looking for new referees to join our ranks, and it's easier than you may think!

We have 2 types of classes you can choose from in order to become a Regional Referee. We offer the full Regional Referee in person training class, where an instructor will go over the rules, regulations, signals and answer any questions you may have. Or you can take the Regional Referee Online Companion course, where the majority of the class is done independently online, followed by an in person field companion course (which normally lasts 2-3 hours).

How do I Register as a Referee?

In order to begin, you'll need to register as a referee volunteer through Sports Connect-Home (bluesombrero.com) . Click "Volunteer" on your left, and "Find Volunteer Roles" on your top right. Pick the appropriate season, and click "View Divisions". Click the division you would like to referee for, or where you have a child registered and click "View Selected Opportunities". Select referee, sign yourself up, and hit continue. View and accept the waivers, hit continue.

Now you have your volunteer profile created! This is the area where you can find our regional volunteer requirements for everyone. Referees, Coaches, Team Parents, Board members etc.
